After King Pegasa discovered the magiod, scientists around the globe began to experiment with the odd magic-absorbing and releasing gemstones. To their shock, the crystals, which they began to call mana crystals, could also channel magic in ways similar to how the creatures of Loftia could. Scientists were thrilled at the prospect of a way to cure some disabilities as well as the idea of creating wings or other magical amenities that could make a non-wing-gifted, for example, possess the ability to fly.

Soon after the breakthrough, a unicorn discovered a magic-repellent metal, which they named lythinum.
